Bluetooth failure after Marshmellow

Probably better here than in the Tab S forum as maybe a general Marshmellow problem?

Now my Tab S is updated to Marshmellow 6.01 I am having trouble with bluetooth. Before i.e. Lollipop, I could BT to my S5 phone.

When I try now I get messages on both devices saying is passkey correct? The only option on both machines is cancel or ok; no way to enter a passkey.

Although both devices are shown as paired they will not connect.

If I select the phone on the tablet the message is "unable to connect to phone enable bluetooth tethering on phone". If I try to select the tablet on the phone nothing happens i.e. I tap the phone, under paired devices, but get no response. I have switched wifoi off as advised.

Note the tablet and phone both connect to my Neet USB hifi by bluetooth.

Any advice please?

Don't know if thus is relevant but my Tab S 6.01 will not initiate BT with wifi on. Not what I want; if I am to stream something from internet; how do I stream with no wifi?

Also how can I find out what BT version I have?

Here's one thing that you can do :

1. Tun on your mobile device
2. Go to home screen and select the app icon
3. Now select on the settings icon
4. Check for the Application Manager
5. Display All Tabs by swiping either right or left
6. Select on Bluetooth
7. Select to stop it forcefully.
8. Now clear the cache
9. Select clear the Bluetooth data

Click on Ok and restart your mobile device.

Further strangeness. I cannot open Gallery unless I give permission to read contact and calendar.

Again is this a Marshmellow feature or bug?

Settings>Applications> does not show All Applications. However I can use the menu to add System Apps. Did that but there is no plain Bluetooth to select. I have

Bluetooth MIDI service
Bluetooth share
Bluetooth test

Forcestoppong none of those shows a cache to clear?

I think I now have found some answers to Bluetooth(BT) failure. It seems that direct BT does not work between Marshmellow devices. You have to use Quick Connect instead.

I have not yet tried Marshmellow to previous OS devices.
