Bluetooth LE Scan for Thief

Hey guys

I'm in military, and someone seems to have stolen my airpods from apple. It's not a big barrack and I have obtained the mac-address of my airpods. Now I hope to find the thief via scanning with some bluetooth LE scanner for my mac-address. But I have not yet found a scanner. Does somebody have an idea?

I don't think that's possible, not unless the Airpods were in BT pairing mode and visible to any devices scanning for them. Don't know how Airpods operate, but some headsets and speakers do go into visible BT pairing mode automatically when nothing is currently connected to them, and they must on of course.
Have tried just poking around the place with a phone in BT mode, with it looking for other devices to connect and pair with?
