Help Bluetooth not connecting automatically?

My previous phone would connect and start playing music immediately when I turned the car back on. With the S5, I have to tap the Bluetooth button, which turns Bluetooth off, tap it again to open it, then select my car audio every time.

I tried deleting the pairing from both my phone and the car, then re-pairing, but that didn't make a difference. Car is a 2013 Subaru Crosstrek. Any suggestions?

If you connect the bluetooth car mode should come on. Once in car mode check settings there is an option to auto connect to that bluetooth

I keep Bluetooth on most of the time. I want it to connect to my car when I turn the car on. My Galaxy Nexus did that. I asked an employee at the Verizon store if my S5 could do that, he said it should connect automatically and that I might need to have the Subaru dealer update the bluetooth in the car.

I DON"T want to use the Samsung car mode. I have an app I prefer instead.
