Help Bluetooth turning on by itself

Hi, just bought a used razr maxx as a backup phone. Bluetooth is driving me crazy. when i turn the phone on Bluetooth is automatically turned on. I can live with that as I just use the power control widget to turn it off if I am not going to use it. The thing really bugging me is that it will randomly turn itself on while the phone is on. I am not determined if this is at a specific time or doing a specific task. I have searched and searched and found nothing about my issue. any ideas? Thanks.

Looks like I have narrowed it to when it is plugged in charging. some kind of car mode or dock mode maybe. Any ideas?

Welcome to Android Forums.

Did you do a Factory Data Rest as the first thing after activating this new-to-you phone?

I do not know if this is a solution but it would establish a foundation for future use.

Yes, first thing I did. When I first activate any phone or get an OTA I always wipe the phone. I have had the phone off the charger now for a few hours and BT has not turned back on. The only other thing to note is, when i first turn the phone on everytime bluetooth is automatically on. Never had that on any phone before including two other razr maxx's. it is more of i just want to figure out why rather than a nuisance.

I'm not a Bluetooth user. Maybe someone else can help there.

I am an avid Tasker user and offer this new idea ...

There are a load of sound volume controls and timeout times available. I wanted to start with everything set to MY default preferences each time I booted my phone.

This is a simple Tasker profile that sets the defaults MY way and I don't need to touch anything ... just boot the phone and they are all set.

and disregard the only while charging comment. it started doing it while off the charger. i cannot narrow it to a certain app or task. really weird and bugging the heck out of me.....OCD !!!!

Have you tried running in Safe Mode (disabling all apps you added without uninstalling them)? If it stops behaving this way it was caused by an app that you added.
