Bluetooth turns off in middle of call

Anyone having an issue with the Bluetooth randomly turning itself off in the middle of a call? It happens to me on most calls I have over 5 minutes.

Essential's support is pretty bad, I think they've got two guys in a garage somewhere. They only allow you to leave a voicemail, then they call back a day later. For me at 9pm at night and then 8pm a second time. I missed the calls and he left no return number either time. So apparently you have to be ready to talk when they are, otherwise you're screwed.

Very ticked off customer here, very close to returning the two phones I bought.

Can you explain what you mean by Bluetooth turns off?
Does it get disconnected, or just that the call redirects to the phone speaker?
Does this happen for music too?
Did you try a different Bluetooth device?

It disconnects from my Bluetooth headset and the phone turns off Bluetooth. I only have one Bluetooth device, so I haven't tried another device. It isn't the headset, cause it works fine on my other phone.

I have decided to return my Essential Phone. I really liked the phone, but the Bluetooth issue is a deal breaker for me.

Plus, their support is definitely not ready for prime time. It takes 2-3 days to get a response, they will call. But if you don't answer, you have to wait another 2-3 days for them to call again because they don't leave a call back number or email address. It's like a movie line, "You don't call Essential, they call you." It seemed like a Two Guys In A Garage outfit. I was very surprised the company with the co-founder of Android has stumbled so much.

The Bluetooth issue and then being exposed to their pathetic support has scared me too much to keep the phone. Even if they were to fix the Bluetooth issue, I'm still weary this company is going to make it.

Just my 2 pennies as feedback for those comparing Essential to another phone.

Try going in your device Bluetooth settings and make sure it's set to Always Seen. It sounds as if the bluetooth settings was on a certain time limit for it to be noticed.
