Help Bookmarks widget- not working

I use Chrome (as its synchs with desktop), and have HTC One M8.
Why does this widget not show the bookmarks (pre & post Lollipop).
I used to re-boot my phone and it would sometimes work?

Does it only work when using stock browser?
