Root [Boost Mobile] New Baseband Upgrade?

Endofear

Newbie
Hi everyone! So. recently I've seen the new baseband being released. Could i just flash the modem for it over my MK5 modem and would that be it? Or should I flash jdsingle's 4.4.2 ROM and then get the modem?

You will brick your phone if you try to flash just the baseband. You have to use Odin to flash the 4.4.2 NDC rom and baseband together. No other way around it unfortunately.

I'm on CM 11 at the moment. So I can flash the tar over CM in Odin. WIpe everything in Philz and then install the new NDC ROM? Or can i just flash the tar and then the modem and still keep CM?

When you flash the NDC tar with Odin it will wipe everything and you will have to reinstall Philz, re-root the phone, etc. You can flash whatever you want after you're finished.

If you plan on switching back to CM11 or another AOSP rom I wouldn't bother. I've seen several reports on XDA of the NDC and ND8 bootloader having a bug to where you can't charge the phone while it's off. Like if you run the battery dead. This only affects AOSP roms so if you want to run Touchwiz, or don't care then it's not a problem.

I still haven't updated to NDC so I'm just passing this info along. I see no need to, I'm running AOKP right now and plan on trying CM11 again whenever the new snapshot is released.

Alright. So from what i understand... i put the phone into download mode. Flash the tar. Reinstall Philz. Root again. Install the modem and then the actual rom itself

No. Odin will install the rom, bootloader, and baseband (modem) all together at the same time. The only thing you have to do is install philz again and root or custom rom afterwards.
