Boost Mobile other 4G Wimax phones coming soon?

Hello Everyone,

I want to know if other 4G (WIMax) phones handset from Sprint is going to Boost Mobile anytime soon. The HTC Design 4G is coming next week May 31st. I know Sprint is moving to LTE and leaving WIMAX and that is why Boost and Virgin Mobile has WIMAX. Anyway I wonder when or if Boost Mobile going to get the reset of the handset from Sprint which has WIMAX the following are WIMAX phones:

1. Samsung Galaxy S II Epic 4G Touch OR Samsung Galaxy Epic 4G touch (both same name)
2. Motorola Photo 4G
3. Samsung Conquer 4G
4. HTC Design 4G (Coming out on May31,2012)

I am having problem with my Samsung Prevail (Bought it on Oct 2,2011) and the first time I had a problem was the button on the faceplate would not work and I have sent to Samsung and they replace the faceplate (Jan 2012). Then the battery will not charge and I sent it back to Samsung May 9 2012) and just yesterday (May 24,2012) I got my phone back. Then I charge the battery to see if it charges and YES it did charge it. After it was fully charged I unplug the adapter and it is 100% full and 5 minutes later it dropped to 75% and then later it went to 48%. My Bluetooth and Wireless are NOT on at all. I changed the battery and still the same happened.

Then I went to plug the USB to the computer and it popped a message that says "USB Device not recognized" The computer will not detect the phone at all. I used the Samsung data cable and I tested on 3 computers and the USB ports will not detect the phone. I have called Samsung again and I am going to send the phone back to them for repair. This is the 3rd time I have to send my phone back to them. I am annoyed and frustrated.

I am looking to buy another Smartphone because this is ridiculous and Samsung would not replace my phone and they just keep on fixing my phone but the problem is not fixed at all. Does anyone know when the other phone will be available to Boost? Right now I am looking at the Motorola Photon 4G and it is a "High End" smartphone. My current warranty with Samsung ends on November 30,2012. Can't wait for my warranty to end with Samsung and the nightmare is over.

Thanks,

Mike

No one is sure what else will be released. I suggest waiting until around the end of November. Christmas will come up soon and who knows what phones we might get.

Hopefully a QWERTY HTC phone ^_^

Hi Miguel Max,

Yes anyway I have to wait until my warranty on my current phone is over and it will be on Nov 30th of this year so I will wait. By then it is Christmas time and hopefully we will get High End phone from Sprint to Boost. So PRO's about PREPAID's are if you have a phone that is not working you can just buy a NEW phone and you don't have to wait until the contract is over. Yes I know the CON is you have to pay FULL price for the phone.

In a few short months you would have saved enough money by using Boost compared to another carrier. Its a pricey upfront cost but overtime you will have more greens in your bank.

also you must be very smart about picking up phones. I wanted a transform ultra but its a small upgrade to the prevail and would cost another 200$ ++ .The HTC Design is no different. Its better in many ways but I myself am going to wait until Christmas time to see if a QWERTY hits the store. Prays for a dual core phone with better battery life!

Hi Miguel Max,

I completely agree with you 100% Yes buying a dual core phone is better than a single core because you can run many applications and programs and it will at least last you a couple of years until you need a buy a new one in the future. LOL no I am not very smart about picking up a phone but thanks. I always follow up with the latest tech with the industry but I don't always but the latest and greatest out there because it is very $$$ when it first comes out. I read that HTC will no longer make QWERTY phones anymore HTC: No plans for any more QWERTY keyboards - Pocket-lint

Samsung Galaxy S II Epic 4G Touch will be coming out, also rumored are the other phones you mentioned above

The Sprint/Boost computer inventory system has this phone code their system "SPH-D710BST" and the Sprint version of the phone is "SPH-D710." The "BST" means it's a Boost phone so it's already in the system which means it will be released for Boost. They will eventually port over their popular 4G phones to Boost as Sprint is switching over to 4G LTE since it's better the the WiMax 4G they were originally using. Just give it some time. Of course, you could have any of those phones flashed to work with Boost before they hit the shelves, but then you'd probably also have to manually update it to ICS and you wouldn't have any kind of warranty on the phone. I say might as well wait another couple months. I probably will upgrade my Transform Ultra to the Epic Touch when it's released. I had been looking into getting one flash but now seeing as how it will be release for Boost, I'm just gonna wait for it to come out in the fall/winter.

Hi Yes Hopefully this fall or winter. Anyway I am waiting patiently.

I'm also waiting patiently on the Galaxy S2. I cannot with to get rid of my Warp, what a disappointment it has turned out to be.

Hi Mike,

I had the same problem as I am always tying to charge...anywhere, but when I hooked to computer it was not recognized (bought phone used so I didn't even have a manual to consult.). In searching around I found that you have to go to SETTINGS and then go under WIRELESS AND NETWORKS. You will then find USB connection(select USB connection mode-(in smaller print)). Select from CHARGING, MASS STORAGE, or ASK ON CONNECTION. This is the only possible answer I know of other than a defective micro USB jack on the phone, but if it's recognizing "something" being connected, it may be a software issue.

I've only had my Prevail for a couple of months and I am already looking to upgrade. I only bought it as it was my first smartphone and I needed it to swipe credit cards (Square up has the smallest swiper I have found and it works excellent on this "low-end" phone. The swiper is only about 1 1/4" square and 1/4-3/8"thick.).

The only other thing I have found that causes weird things to happen is when my phone has reached its' memory limits...it's like it gets confused. I have had times when it won't want to keep a charge at all (wifi and Bluetooth off) but once I do some "housekeeping", it seems to clear things up a bit.

I'm no Geek, but I have a bit of luck "accidently" figuring things out.

Hope this helps,,

Brian

Just read that the MOTOROLA PHOTON WILL NOT GET AN ICS (ICE SCREAM SANDWICH UPDATE)

Hi Everyone,

Today I went to the Motorola Photon 4G WILL NOT get a ICS update which is BAD. The link is here https://forums.motorola.com/pages/00add97d6c.

So what that means I will have to jump out of BOOST MOBILE soon because I want a GSM phone. Now since it will not be updated to ICS I will leave Boost Mobile. How is the HTC Design 4g? I will go to another contract carrier and have a 1 year contact and then unlock my phone and then I will go to a prepaid GSM carrier like Straight Talk or Simple Mobile.

Question about the Boost Mobile Family plan does anyone know when it will start?
