boot loop issue after restart

Hi all,

I tried restarting my phone after my soft keys were slow and unresponsive and ever since my phone has been on a boot loop. It gets to the white 'HTC, Powered by android' screen, goes off and repeats.

I tried to hold down the power button and the volume down button, which brings up the grey HTC screen as if it was going to enter recovery mode, but then it just loops that screen and if I let go it returns to looping the white HTC screen.

Any ideas or things I can try? Thanks in advance....

If you can't get to recovery and your phone is stuck in a bootloop, the only thing I can think of is to flash the factory firmware.
