Root Bootloop issue. PLEASE HELP!

I am new to rooting issues and flashing ROMS. I'm not sure what I did, but when in Clockworkmod, I could not "format boot," (it stated "Error formatting BOOT:!") - Then I factory reset and rebooted and it got stuck at the Motorola "M" screen. So I pulled battery out, held down the home key and powered up and got the recovery screen (not clockwork). Anytime I try to reboot, I get stuck at the "M". So I did some research and came to the conclusion (possibly mistakenly) that I needed to get back the original factory settings. It seemed I needed to download RSDlite 4.9 and SBF, which I did. Then I manually put my phone in bootloader mode and connected it to the usb on comp. Ran RSDLite, have no idea whats going on. Can't run SBF. Trying to figure this out. Very upset. Help please?

I sitting here with the same exact problem.. tried installing Fission ROM using the Fission ROM manager and everything went smooth until after install reboot my phone is just stuck on the M.. and ive tried dling the RDS and just won't find my device idk what to do anymore

To make matters worse, I'm working off a Mac. I just found a very helpful link (hoprefully, your working off a PC): Tutorial/Walkthrough for flashing an .sbf to Droid 2 (unrooting/factory restore) - xda-developers

If you can't escape the "M", you can go straight to bootload by taking out the battery, holding both volume keys down, putting in the battery while holding the volume keys, and pressing the power button. Hold them all together, then release the power button while still holding the volume keys. This shoudl put you in bootloader mode. Now you can let go of the volume keys and connect to pc via usb and the computer will recognize the device.

I can get into any boot screen i want.. bootloader w.e but for some reason RSD 4.9 will not see my device..It shows up in the box window and says flash connected but anytime i search for the sbf start is never an option
