Help BQ Aquaris X Firmware Issue with camera

I bought a second hand BQ Aquaris x, which was shipped from china.
Everything worked fine.
I downloaded official Android 8.1.0 firmware from bq.com and upgraded my Aquaris x to oreo. After the update i realized that the camera is not the original bq camera, the previous firmware was customized to somehow recognize third party camera camera module for my bq.
So now my phone doesn't recognize my camera, and i need help to know what the Chinese has edited in the firmware so that the customized firmware recognized the camera.
I have a back up of the previous firmware with TWRP, but when i restore it, it goes to boot loops.
So what i should i do.
The previous version was Android 7.1.1 and build 1.5.1 and i have downloaded the same original firmware, so what i should edit and join from the previous firmware TWRP backup.

My phone's camera is already third-party, which only worked with the previous firmware, but now the original firmware of the device does not support this third-party camera. I wonder what they had modified in the previous firmware which was supporting this third-party camera sensor.

"shipped from China" or just "made in China"? Because AFAIK BQ is a Spanish brand, and I assume they're selling them locally. Where did you buy it?

Might be worth you contacting BQ's tech support about the problem, because it could be an issue or bug with their firmware that they need to fix.

I contacted bq support spain and they said, it requires new camera part, and bq won't sell spare parts.
And Danny i installed camera apps, but it doesn't work.
Something in the system software or kernal should edited.
And with the previous firmware, the boot logo was a Linux peingiun.
Now the logo is from bq.

Well if the camera has failed, i.e. it's a hardware fault, then I don't think any software or kernel or whatever is going to fix that.

These phones had some hardware problems (camera part, fingers print sensor, etc). So as bq does not sell spare part of their products, so these bq phones (aquaris), were sent to china to be repaired, and then was shipped to Afghanistan and sold here for a cheap price.
And my phones problem was canera, so they found a 3rd party camera part, and they customized the firmware to support the camera.

Dear mikedt,
I disassembled and put my phones camera in a other bq phone which the firmware i did not upgrade, the camera worked fine.
The thing is the camera only work with the custom firmware, came with this phone not with the official firmware.
The difference between official and custom firmware is, at the boot there is Linux peingiun logo on custom firmware but on boot with the official firmware, the bq logo appears.
So there is possible to be fixed by firmware.
The thing i need is how the Chinese did it.
