No. Most likely there is an app you have installed that is doing this, the tablet by itself does not behave this way.
You need to find out which app you installed that is causing this behavior and remove it; I have also had an app do this to me, but I cannot remember the name. The best place to start is to look in the comments section of Google Play for the apps you have installed and see if someone else is having a similar issue. Failing this you will have to remove the apps one by one to determine which one is responsible. Once you have identified it, please report it within Google Play so others will not fall into the same trap. Google may take it down if they confirm your finding.
