Root Bricked Droid Razr Maxx

Newbie
I tried to update my 2.3.6 gingerbread razr maxx to 4.0.4 ics through the droid razr utility 1.8...which consequently soft bricked my phone. It still boots to the red motorola symbol but just blacks out after that, I tried to restore using droid razr utility 1.6 back to 2.3.6 but I was given an error. Just feeling it might work I tried to restore back to 4.0.4 but sadly, nothing changed. Someone please help I 'm pretty sure verizon will replace because of the warranty I have and for the fact that I've only had the phone for a little over a month but i'd rather not go through setting up a new phone.

Thanks A LOT for all the help
...P.S I tried to factory reset and wiped cache but, nothing else happened.

this happened to me last nght. you need to download the stock .211 rom, place the zip on the root of your sd, then press the up down volume keys and power at the same time. you will see your screen kinda flash a line of light, when that happens take your finger off the power button and press it again while still holding the volume keys. go down to the recovery. then you will see a droid guy laying down, press the up and down volume keys to get into the options, update from zip, find the zip you put on there. that shoud do it, or it did for me atleast.

How do i view files or get files onto the SD when i can't select USB storage mass.Because when i try to access the SD through straight USB connection to the computer, the computer does not let me access the files.

Thanks, would any of this be from the fact that my battery was at around 40% instead of the recommend 90%

Where did you download the rom from?

Thanks

do you have a card reader, or any other device that has a microsd card? I've used my mp3 player a few times to access/format/etc an microSD card.

Possibly. If you were closer to 20% charge, it could definitely cause a softbrick (happened to me when I updated to .211).

Have you tried rerunning the 1.8 utility? Do you get any error messages when you do?

What error were you getting when you were trying to revert?

I don't get any errors when I restore to 4.0.4 but it still is stuck in the bootloop although i wasnt at 4.0.4 in the first place so yeah...I tried the 1.6 utility also but with that restore to 2.3.6 there WAS an error.

Thanks
