Hi, Welcome to the forum!

This may be down to your brightness setting to adjust this

• Pull down your notification bar
• Under the shortcuts (wifi, gps ect.) you will see a slider bar
• You can move this bar up to increase the brightness of the phone
• If that does not work check to see if auto brightness is enabled. This will be shown by a tick being in the box at the end of the slider bar, deselect this and then move the bar to the desired position

Alternatively you can turn on Auto Brightness by selecting the box at the end of the slider bar this automatically brightens and dims the phone depending on how bright your surroundings are.
