Broken notification light

I've just bought my galaxy s5 about a month ago and have been enjoying it alot. However, something very weird has happened recently. The notification light begins to flash white after a while. For example, when the phone is charging, it will be red for a while and then it will randomly switch to flashing white. Same for notifications, it will flash blue for a bit and then switch to white. Has anyone else experienced this problem and does anybody know what may be causing it?

These notifications are the default ones. You can actually modify types of events you want your Galaxy S5 to notify you about by going to Apps > Settings > Display > LED indicator.

I hope this helps. Thanks for reading.

There's a bunch of apps that might be changing your notification light settings..

A hardware issue is possible but not super likely if it's not going completely dead..

If you are ready to send it back anyway try a factory reset and don't install any apps on it until you check the functionality of the light with just the base OS.
