Help Broken power button

DaveW

Hi, I'm having some trouble with my power button.

It started acting up on thursday, where it would power on and off repeatedly from time to time. Yesterday it ran dry, and I plugged it in my laptop to get power, which it does receive.

Now I can't power it on anymore though..

Anyone know what I can do?

Hello and welcome to the forums . your power button problem . does this affect the power on or just the off . what I am asking is do you see the pop up that say power off ,screen shot or airplane mode etc .

Before it turned off, it was possible to use it to unlock the screen, shut if off and turn it on. But now that it has been off since yesterday, I have no idea.

As I said, it started turning off and on Thursday, and would enter the menu for airplane mode, restart and shut off. If I clicked it just right, it would stop doing this for a while.

Now its a way to power on and its very simple . pull out battery for about 40 seconds . now put the battery back in the device . plug the wall charger in the power outlet where you are . now plug in the other end to the device . the next step needs fast movement . once you see the splash screen pull out the charger end from the phone. . if it Dont work try the same on the PC /laptop.if it still Dont work charge the the device for about 45min or a 4hour limit just till it fully charge up . then repeat the steps

The only problem with this is, that the HTC One Mini is impossible to disassemble! Can't open it up and remove the battery..

Tried both my wall socket, my laptop and charged it fully, but it won't start.. When you say "splash screen", you mean the first little picture of a battery on the screen, right?
Not the second one, indicating how much power is on it?

Either way, it didn't work..

I really appreciate you trying to help me out though. This is making me more and more convinced, that I need to just forget about my personal data, and leave it to my warrant. It's not rooted or anything.
