Hi all,
Can anybody help me out with the broken touchscreen glass of my huawei U8150.
went to dicksmith to send it to get fixed but was told that its better and cheaper to buy new than get repaired.
phone is in very gud condition but cant work since its glass shattererd.
I came across this post after doing something similar to my Ideos. I have found an ebay seller who has a replacement touch screen for huawei ideos for just under $25 including some tools that might help install it. You can also check youtube for huawei ideos teardown, and youll find a video of how to dismantle and re-assemble your phone.
Hi vetprof, have you fixed your broken screen? I'm doing this as an exercise on a phone I bought on TradeMe. The screen you want is called a digitizer touch screen and the one I bought on Ebay cost $17.00NZ.
The Youtube video I followed was called Teardown and it's quite easy to understand. (monkeysee - monkeydo) Neil.
Hi vetprof, further to my Post #4. I've installed both screens on the U8150. The Digitizer screen and the LCD screen and carried out a Forced Upgrade to unlock the previous owners screen lock code.
I had to contact the first owner to get them to ask Virgin Mobile AU. for the SIM lock code to unlock it from the Virgin Network.
All is sweet and the phone is working on the 2 Degrees NZ Network.
Cost of both screens was just under $40.00 NZ and it's a pretty straight forward job (with care) to carry out and cheaper than paying $249.00 for a specialist in Auckland to do the same thing. Neil.
