Hi guys, I have a second hand g1 which I bought as faulty (needed new battery and wouldn't boot past g1 screen) from ebay. Everything works fine now, but the only problem is that the phone's USB port won't connect to anything. (I've tried 3 mini usb cables).
However, I purchased a desktop charger from ebay, which means I take the battery out and charge it overnight, and this is working fine, no problems.
The thing is, I'm running the stock 1.6 and would love cyanogen's 2.2. All the guides and walkthroughs for installing 2.2 on the g1 involve connecting it to a computer. I have an SD and adapter, so I'm wondering if I can root and flash without a USB connection?
