Help Browser force closes when I try to use the address bar

Hey group,

I just got my Android phone (Motorola Devour for Verizon) on Sunday. I've loved it so far, and ran out the battery both days I've had it. The only problem I've encountered so far is this:

When I first got the phone, the browser worked great (both the stock one and Dolphin) as well as the Google search bar on the home page. However, now I encounter the problem that when I try to use the search bar or the address bar within the browser, it will force close. I can navigate via bookmark to Google IN the browser, type in the webpage, and it works from there, however.

I don't know what could possibly cause this problem. Any suggestions?

If your phone didnt have the update when you go it the ota update could be causeing problems with the apps. Check the market for updates for the apps.

if you just got it sunday you can always try taking it back to vzw for a fresh one, they usually are pretty good about that. and a tip on the battery, there are widgets that allow you to turn off gps and wifi and bluetooth if you arent currently using them, doing that made my battery life last soooooo much longer! glad to hear you like the phone! welcome to the group!

Got the widget for GPS/wifi/etc, and so far (today) it has worked really well. Great tip, thanks!
