Help Browser issue (Can't view desktop version of a website)

r0mmy

Lurker
Hey everyone, new to the Galaxy S3, coming from an HTC Evo 4G. So, I was able to view the desktop version of a particular website (entensity dot net for your information, note, website is NOT work safe!) on my Evo 4G, however even with 5 different browser changes, putting them in desktop mode and everything, I still cannot view the website. A simple change to desktop mode on the Evo 4G worked fine, but no matter what I do, I still can't access it on on the Galaxy S3. Any ideas? :(

You've tried requesting the desktop site in the Browser?

While in the Browser > Settings > Request Desktop Site

Does it redirect you to a different URL when it detects the mobile device?

I'm assuming you're talking about ICS Browser+ for that. I tried using that browser with Desktop user agent, and Request Desktop site and it still doesn't work. I've tried Dolphin, Opera, default broser, ICS+, Skyfire, and none of them work. I'm convinced it's a phone setting, not a browser setting. Problem is, I don't know which one.

And yes, it sends me to a completely different URL when it detects the mobile device.

Is there a "View Full Desktop" link anywhere on their mobile site?

No, as I stated, when website detects mobile phone, it auto directs to a completely different URL. Entensity.net will direct to mobile.madthumbs.com

I use the Dolphin HD browser and it works fine.

In Dolphin, choose "more" then choose "settings" then choose "user agent" and set the default to DESKTOP.

Thing is, I've tried all these browsers, and none of them work; the site still reverts me to mobile.madthumbs.com. Is there some sort of setting that I'm missing??

Okay so what I would try is set the User Agent to Desktop and then clear the cache in the app (NOT the data). Then reload Dolphin or whatever browser you choose and relaunch the other site.

If you try to request the desktop version of mobile.madthumbs.com it won't know what to do since there is actually no desktop version of that specific site. It doesn't know to redirect you back to your original site.

Try the above and let me know if that works for you.

Tried it. Still sent me to mobile.madthumbs.com. I'm in the USA with Sprint, maybe that has something to do with it?
