There are known issues with this app. It's not just you!
You'll need a BTTV subscription, plus your router/modem needs to be multicast enabled, and you'll need a speed of at least 6mbps to stream BT Sports... and even then it's a crapshoot.
I suspect that this is something that only BT can fix... sorry!
