Ready to take on your fitness goal? Android is making that possible with apps that keep track of your workout.

The Buddy Runner app lets you utilize the GPS in your phone for real-time information regarding your workout. Listen to your tunes as you workout and have audible feedback information sent to your headphones at intervals you set. Add your personal account information, email address and off you go.

Buddy Runner is easy and simple to use. The home screen or Workout tab is where you start and end your workout. Time, distance and your pace are all displayed. Under the Map tab you can see the route of your walk, jog or run in regular view or satellite view.

This sounds like a good app so far!

I'm currently using an app in my Treo called Runner's Log and I'd love for Buddy Runner to include some of those features: average pace and miles run this week, average pace and miles run this month, average pace and miles run this year, average pace and miles run in total. Even a place for notes on each run.

In addition, Runner's Log allows you to enter what equipment (shoes) you used -- really helpful to see exactly how many miles I have on each pair of shoes, and pretty important info!

Thanks for this app. Looking forward to watching it evolve!

The above is just a review that I wrote about the app. I'm not the actually developer of the app. Just wanted to clear that up. But thanks for the reply and I'll check out the app you mention.

Looks like a winner. I will check it out. Playing with this app will be an incentive to get off the couch and get a little exercise.

Whoops! Sorry! I'll drop the developer a note. I'd love to retire the Treo for good, but Runner's Log is the one app on it that makes me keep it alive.

That's what I'm hoping for too. But we still need a little warmer weather here in Boise. I'm waiting for spring so I can take my Clear mobile connection and head outside so I can write reviews under the sun. :)
