Build Update.zip from dump

STLJ

Newbie
So I have search and search to the point where I found my own tail,,lol

I have dumped my MBX
This is the link with all the spects for my unit.
MBX / MBX DVBT reference board (c03ref) / null / Unknown - Android Fragmentation

I have dumped the partitions and have these files.
aml_Logo.img
boot.img
config.gz
recovery.img
system.info.gz
system.tar
ubootenv.img
ubootwhole.img

For me to make a Update.zip in kitchen I need the meta_inf from the original rom I think. I don't have it, that is why I am doing this
or can I use any one with the same kernel and check the update script for errors.

or am I in the wrong direction.

I figured it out, I now have a flushable factory update.zip so if my box crashes its a simple fix

now to start modding this puppy

Only one draw back, I messed up my android system recovery 3e, have to boot off sdcard every time I want to play with it.

Any one have a simple fix for this

I'm not sure if these old firmwares do have recovery partition in it's fstab, but if they do, you can take your uImage_recovery, put it in zip and flash it as raw image to recovery partition (just like aml_logo, check any aml firmware for example, updater-script). That should work.
