Built-In IM App

Good Morning All,

The built-in IM app is always running in the background. It starts over right after I kill it.

Short of changing to a different OS, is there anyway to disable or delete this application?

Hi Pete ,

have you tried going to the IM app -> Menu -> then looking for something along the ligns of "Log me in automatically" or "Load at startup".....?

Yep.

When I run the IM app, it just brings up the big three, AIM, MSN, and Yahoo. There is no settings menu.

On reflection, I'm thinking the OP is referring to a MyTouch. I've read other posts regarding an IM app on there.

I have a G1 through T-Mobile. In the base load, there is an app labeled IM. The icon is a double chat bubble, one red, one blue. It is always on, even after I kill it with a task killer. I also have Google Talk on my phone as well.
