I think they exaggerate the impact of the mobile movement. Mobile technology will revolutionize the way people operate ON THE GO but people still work 9 to 5 jobs... people still go home after work and hang out at their house... in front of A COMPUTER! They won't sit at home and use their mobile instead of a laptop... it just won't happen.
Google recognizes the opportunity in mobile and doesn't want anything to pass them by... and Android is their answer. They've already begun serving up mobile adsense and Android will give them a foot in the door that they can decide how to monetize as time passes.
Is it me or does this article seem a bit misguided? Business Week usually has pretty good stuff but I think this is a bit... well... crappy. Either this news is just a few months late or it is targeted towards newbs.
