Is there a button combo to enter recovery from the phone being in a powered off state?

Also any one know about dialer codes for the metro/tmo variants?

I've googled and found nothing on these subjects for my variant

Thank you but i dont want to master reset i want to enter recovery from a powered off state (same idea as how u master reset it) but its some other button combo.

I just dont know what that is. Ive tried different combos and nothing has worked yet.

And thanks for the code!

@n1nj4Lo I also found another button combination!

While powered off if you hold the Volume down AND volume up AND power you'll get a window with your IMEI and Serial #

That is the way to get into recovery TECHNICALLY stock Lg G Stylo has no recovery, just a factory reset mode so no go for ya there unless you install and flash twrp and enable oem unlock in developer mode.

That's download mode to be used with Lg Tools from the Pc or Lg Bridge
(Don't quote me on Lg Bridge I've not tried it)

@n1nj4Lo Nono, that's just volume up and power for Download mode, but >>volume down<< AND Volume up +Power buton. Hold them all down for about 3 seconds while powered off and NOT connected to a power supply

Great. Thanks . i believe this was the same method for an old phone i had. This would be the second one that works this way.

Ill make a backup first just in case.

Use an app like Quickboot. Now, that your phone is rooted, it is much easier to get to recovery than holding your phone and cramping your fingers to get to recovery lol.

And yes, make a Nandroid backup in TWRP of your current setup.

EDIT: Didn't read the part about being in a powered off state. However, I do still recommend Quickboot. It relieves wear and tear on your buttons and the power button. The app allows you to reboot your phone, reboot to recovery, and power the phone off.

Yss definitely on the root reboot apps.

I just wanted the hardware optio. In the event of brick. Im sure i could could connect my phone to a cpu and boot the recovery image i have on my pc (that's what we all had to do to install twrp/root in the first place and i still have it on my cpu) and restore my backup from the sd card that way...

But using hardware buttons to get to recovery and do it would be more convenient if im not near my cpu.

Now i only feel comfortable messing with the system when im at home near my cpu haha

Well, you always need to know the hardware method of powering into recovery. You just never know.

What "messing with the system" kind of stuff would you be doing away from a computer? lol
