Buying App for friend

My friend would like me to buy an App for him from the market on my account. How can I do this?

I think the only realistic way of doing it is to register your card on his Google account {Checkout} then he can purchase the app directly onto his phone and can still update and re-download it etc.

What Carl said. If you were to purchase the app on your phone and send him the APK, he would not be able to get updates, and technically he would have the software illegally.

Thanks guys...I was thinking Carl that would be the only way but was hoping there was another. I am not wanting to do anything illegal.
