Buying apps problems

Hi.
I'm trying to buy the QuickSSHd from market, but it does not work.
When I start the download, it just stalls at "Starting download".

I have had problems before with free apps where the download never starts.

Is there a way of buying from the market using a browser instead?

The phone is an HTC Desire with Android 2.2 Custom Modaco R8 ROM

Ok, I finally got it to download, but it would be nice if this worked better. I have used about 2 hours to get this small app down on the phone.
