Calendar app that imports ics WITHOUT google calendar?

Lurker
I'm looking for an android calendar app that can

(1) Import events from an ics file, but
(2) Does NOT put the events into Google calendar

I.e. I want to be able to move events from my mac to my android phone but do not want them in google. (In theory a caldav server running on the mac would do the trick, but installing one has proven to be a problem.)

If such a thing exists, please let me know.

thanks

I think and calendar app would do this. All you would need to do is go into Accounts and Sync, select your Google account and uncheck sync calendar.

I've tried that with ical-import-export. Even though I had the google calendar set with sync off, when I imported the ics file it put everything into google calendar. It appears that that ical-import-export stores all events in google calenar.

The android calendar itself does not appear to be able to import ics files. (I'm referring to the calendar app that comes with a razr maxx - I assume it's the standard android calendar, but it doesn't actually say so.)

Search Play for a calendar app that syncs with - FLIQ seems to sync elsewhere. Says it works with Apple Ical. There were a few more.

A Samsung device can function with calendars completely without intervention from Google. The TouchWiz overlay on Samsung is the same as the overlay on their Bada devices, hence it brings around similar functionality, such as offline sync with your computer via Samsung Kies (Kies for Mac in your case). The data saved on the Samsung "My Calendar" is incapable of syncing to Google.

I would suggest for you to download Samsung Kies for Mac (it won't matter if you have a phone or not yer), then check the options if it is capable of syncing to your Mac's native calendar. On Windows, it can sync with Outlook (and AFAIK with Windows Calendar too). I think it would have similar functionality on a Mac.

I had a similar problem. To solve it I use a app called CalendarSync. You can import ics files using this app. The appointments can be stored in any calendar on the device. You also can create a custom calendar using the app which is independet from google. Using this calendar to store the appointments you will be independet from google and get all your stuff on the device.
