Calendar App to Use & Sync with Google

My Droid X is syncing the stock calendar app with Google just fine. Do I have to use that one or can I use another that will still sync? I'd like something that shows upcoming appointments on the home screen without having to go into the app. The current app only shows the current appointment where I'd like to see the next 1-2 similar to Windows Mobile used to do.

I searched other posts and can't seem to find this. If I missed it and it's been answered elsewhere, my apologies.

I use jorte cal widget and Gemini in concert with the agenda view in the stock calendar.

i just got calendar pad and it does what i need and its free.
