Calendar Reminders Coming As Emails

Hi all

My wife got a new s5, we share one calendar which is my gmail calendar. This way we can both put events in and each of us will see it etc.

The issue is that events she makes keep sending me a email reminder to my gmail. How do I disable this, my phone, her phone and all our tablets already remind us enough without me having to delete these extra emails each time also.

We have looked extensively on her phone and haven't found anything. We use s planner as the calendar app. Is it a setting on my phone somewhere?

Thanks

I don't have the same phone as you and don't use any calendar "helpers" but if I open the Google Calendar app and tap on any event there's a section near the bottom headed "Reminders" where you can add or remove email (or popup) reminders for the event.

Same applies if you log into Google Calendar with a browser on your PC and click on "Edit event", so use this method if you don't have the Google Calendar app on your phone and don't want to install it.

The default on mine is to not set a reminder so if yours is adding one automatically it's probably down to the app you're using. I'm not familiar with "S Planner" (I'm not a Samsung user) so I can't help with that one but at least you should now be able to clear the offending reminders.
