Help Calendar sync issue

Hi,

I'm using lollipop and the stock version of the calendar on my phone. Which is synced to my gmail calendar.

Events do sync as expected from the web to my phone and vice versa, but ONLY IF I do a manual sync on the phone. I've deleted an event on the web version and it's been 40 minutes now and still appearing on my home screen calendar widget. If I do a manual sync it dissapears!!

Seems like a massive pain to do a manual sync each time. What could the issue be?

And what is your phone? Different manufacturers have different stock appa that work differently.
