calendar syncing from ical

Hey everyone, I moved in with my partner and hes an apple user. Anyway he has a busy schedule so he shared his calendar with me through my old apple account. Am I able to sync my apple account to my samsung calendar or google calendar to be able to see all my events along with his calendar that he shared? Thanks.

If you've a URL for his calendar you can log in to calendar.google.com on a browser and you'll see a box "add a friend's calendar". Next to that there's a plus sign - click that and select "from url". That should let you sync it with your Google calendar (you could try clicking on the "add a friend's calendar" box or pasting the url straight into there, I've always used the menu the + button brings up).

Stuff like this is generally easier using a computer and a web browser than trying to do it on a phone.

How did he share it with you previously? If you are sharing it must be synced with a cloud server, and I'm pretty sure the sharing options are in iCloud. However, although I am typing this on a Macbook I don't use that for calendars so can't say more than that.

Maybe this link will help:

... and just to play the grammar Nazi role, if you were having problems searching for relevant info using that 'ical' wording, that relates more to the actual, generic ical file format ( .ics ); with the added confusion of Apple using 'iCal' for its calendar application/service, which it later re-branded as 'Calendar'.

This is the first timehe shared it withme. He sent me an invite through my email and it's linked to my apple account, I'm trying to sync it through googleso i can see it on my phone through the google calendar. When i goto add it. It says i need the apple url for the calendar. But i noticed what kind neam issue, will bebe ableto see mine, and will i be ableto edit it and have him seethe changed?
