Calendar syncs only one-way.

Lurker
I have HTC Droid phone with 2.3.4 Android.

I have a problem with calendar sync. If I modify any appointments on web, it shows in my phone in an instant. But if modify the same appointment on my phone, it does not show up in the web.

I have auto-sync turned on.

Thanks.

Are you inputting the calendar entry into the gmail calendar on your phone or the local calendar? What I did on mine to remove confusion was to just completely disable the phone's local calendar and use only gmail calendar. Only the gmail calendar syncs.

No - I am not inputting in my phone. I am inputting a new appointment in the computer; it shows up in the phone gmail calendar. But when I modify that appointment in the gmail calendar in the phone, it does NOT show up in the computer.

But the other way works. Modifying that entry in the web shows up immediately in the phone. Thanks.

Give Business Calendar a try. Click the pic to go to the market. The widgets are nice too! semi transparent.

(I wonder if some of the calendar inquiry strings can get merged?)

Same problem here. Is there really a local calendar that's separate from the Google calendar? And even if that's the case, why would the sync work at all?

Depends on the phone. Wasn't able to get back to this.

There are several calendars in the calendar app, and they are often color coordinated. For example, my Google Calendar is blue, my School Calendar is green, etc. When you add an event, one of the fields yoy can change at the top is the add to calendar field. Tap that and you have choices for 'My Calendar' and your Google account. If you want to sync, you should choose Google account. The My Calendar bit is ths local calendar put there for people who don't want to sync their info to cloud.

I think I found the problem. By default the event I created was placed in the "Phone" calendar, which I didn't even know existed. I have to force it into my Google account calendar. I'd really like the Google account calendar to be the default, but I haven't yet figured out how to achieve that.
