Hi there,
I transferred my old calender events from my Nokia phone to my new HTC Desire. On the Nokia, I had all my weekly events scheduled and stuff like that, e.g. classes, meetings, etc. Since those were recurring events, they did not need a reminder every time they were up. On the other hand, I had a few events that I would need to be reminded of.
I used the option "Add reminder" in the Calender app for this but additionally to the reminder I set, the phone reminded me about every scheduled event 10 minutes prior. I opened
Menu => More => Settings => Reminder Settings
and disabled them but once I did so, I got no reminders at all, even when I scheduled them manually using "Add reminder". Not knowing what else to do, I created a separate calender in Google Calender to contain only events that need reminders; then I unchecked "All Calenders" in the aforementioned menu, set "Apply settings to" to the new calender and set "Set alerts..." to "Alert", while changing it to "off" for all the other calenders. But when I leave this menu and return, all calenders are now set to "alert".
So my questions would be:
SoWhy

So my questions would be:
- Is there a way to make the calender app to only display alerts when the reminder was added to the event using "Add reminder"?
if not... - Is there a trick to get the Calender to save the alert settings only for the calender I chose?
if not... - Is there another (free) app that I could use to replace the Calender and which offers such capabilities?
