Call Divert App required

Download Zedge and install.
Download "silent ringtone" from Zedge

Go to Settings and change ringtone for all calls to the new "Silent Ringtone" and then add a custom ringtone to whoever's calls you want to get through.

I personally would get a google voice phone number account at:

https://www.google.com/voice

which will then give you all sorts of options as far as which calls get though to your cell phone/home/work or wherever. I never give out my cell phone, but only the google number. This allows me to send certain contacts to my cell, some straight to voicemail, others to a message that says my phone is no longer in service. Great way to manage your phone call intake.

Prov1, thaks for your reply.... I'll look into giving that a go but I'm concerned about having to add a custom ringtone to over 100 friends & family.....

I find it strange that what I consider to be a simple thing to want to do doesn't have a very simple couple of click app ou there to do the job......

It's a consequence of handing out one and the same number to everybody. But maybe the other way around, adding a custom ringtone to work numbers, is more convenient?

Not sure which phone you are using, but on my Galaxy S2, i can put my contacts into preset groups, and then assign a ringtone to each group.

If you go into your contacts, click on Groups, then hit info button (or whatever its called, (the one next to the phone home button) and click Edit Group, then Add a member. You can then quickly add your contacts to that group. You can also add the ringtone at that place.

Good luck.
