Callback numbers

I just upgraded from a Galaxy S5 to an S7. I'm liking it so far except for one thing. When I receive texts, it adds a callback number (CB #) to the end of every text I receive, even from iPhones. My S5 never did this. I realize this doesn't affect functionality, but it is kinda distracting, and I would like to stop displaying the CB#s. Is there a way to do this?

You're right. I talked to my carrier yesterday, and they said it was a carrier code issue affecting some of their android phones, but it wasn't something they could change in the office.

A friend suggested Textra as an alternative messaging app. I'm testing it right now to see if I like it. It doesn't display the callback numbers (at least not on my phone), and it's very customizable. I haven't used it enough to tell if I want to switch it permanently, but it looks promising.
