The caller cant hear me talking unless I turn it to speaker than he can hear me! Pixel 2 XL latest update

Was this happening to you before at all? What's the update version number?

Take notice on where your hand/finger placement is to see if you're covering any small holes that are typically used for noise cancellation as these can cause problems for audio when covered.

Was this happening to me before? I was using headphones all time but now stopped using them.

I tried holding the phone differently each time still it happens

I'd first look at any apps with the Phone permission (Settings > Apps & notifications > App permissions > Phone).

You don't happen to have the IMSA app installed by chance, do you?

If you have to ask....

It's a motorsports app that was recently found to cause some weird behaviors.

How about the MLB At Bat app?

I dont have that but no matter what I do it only works in safe mode deleted many apps and made permission for phone only at messages and contacts and 3 google apps

Still works in Safe Mode though, right?

The only thing I can really recommend is to uninstall your apps one by one until it starts to work normally. Or you could bite the bullet and do a factory reset to do it all at once. If you go that route, don't automatically restore all your apps and data from the cloud - set it up as a new device, update all the preinstalled apps, and test to see if the microphone works as it should. If so, you can start manually installing your apps again. If not, you should reach out to Pixel Support.
