Caller ID

I'm wanting to get a good caller ID, my carrier (Bell) charges $7/month and I had that on my plan when I had a Blackberry but had it removed when I upgraded to the S3.
I know about PrivacyStar but are there any others (any free? ). I think it's stupid that a phone wont display a contact name when they are calling, I'm waiting for the day you'll need caller ID to see who just texted you.

PrivacyStar seems to be a 'do it all' app, which is great, but all I really need/want is the ability to see what contact is calling me, I dont really care much for non-contact numbers.

I find it odd that your phone doesn't show you who's calling you if they are in your contacts. I use an app called "Who Are You" to identify those numbers that aren't in my contacts. It seems to work pretty good at identifying numbers of businesses that call me. and it does pop up everytime someone calls me.

I have T-Mobile, and most of the time when a phone isn't under my contacts.. It'll show me the name of the person that hte phone is registered too.. And I don't pay anything extra..

i'm willing to bet this is a carrier problem then, Canadian cell providers really like to bend you over


edit: i just downloaded the one week free trial for privacy star (also tried your suggestion Speedfan) and called from my home line and still comes up as unknown name unkown number. like i said, carriers up here bend us over, guess im stuck with Bell provided caller ID @ $7/ month
