Help Calls sound like a Dalek

Sometime when I dial a number, instead of being clear, the ringtone sounds like it's being said by a Dalek. The person talking on the other end also sounds the like a Dalek and is almost unintelligible. Often I have to recall the number 4-5 times and then suddenly I get a clear line. Sometimes the call starts with the dalek-like sound and then suddenly clears. It seems odd that it's not a persistent problem, which would clearly point to the phone. It if was common then I would have seen lots of reports of this and I can't say I have seen any. I guess this would imply the phone is probably at fault, but the intermittent nature makes me feel that the mobile operator (3 UK) will probably test the phone and say it's fine. I guess I could record the phone calls and play it back to them. Any other suggestions?

Or go to the service location and try calling the tech 3-4 times to see if you can recreate it. Also, note the time and where you are when you have the problem, who you are calling, if it's a cell you're calling, etc. It may be a particular cell tower having problems and you only notice it when connecting to that particular tower.

Thanks for suggestions - it is from different locations (hundreds of miles apart) so I don't think it's a local cell issue. I think I'll have to record a call so I can play it back to them. I'll have to keep a log of successful and failed calls as well so I can get a percentage hit!

I have had this issue a few times recently. Not sure if its the new phone or the provider. This doesn't help much as I have the same phone also on 3UK.

Its one call every now and then. Hang up and re-dial all is ok. Im more tempted to lean towards 3UK.
