Camera Apps for the Droid? (do they help?)

I have seen several apps for the camera on the Market. Since the camera is hardware, do apps available improve the picture taking ability or experience?

Just curious, sorry if its a dumb question.

I use Camera360, and IMO, it does make a difference!

Camera360 is my choice, it is easier to deal with than the stock camera on my Captivate, and with this or other camera apps you can get many more quick effect options, I like the night mode and HDR modes which make low-light images much better. Vignette is also great but is really slow on my phone. Another option as long as your camera satisfies you is an editor like PicSay Pro to make adjustments after-the-shot. It is great and easy to use, totally worth the cost.
