camera during phone call

yesterday i saw something crazy while i was on the phone and wanted to take a pic but couldnt (tmobile) can any other carriers do this?

I cant. (Three, UK).
I would have thought it was a phone setting rather than a carrier setting but im probably wrong. Would be nice to be able to do it though

i get the warning saying 'you can not use the camera during a call'. but then checking voicemail still uses airtime, hence a call. i can't understand why there should be different or restriction rather.

Verizon S3 here. Main camera app didn't work during a call, but Camera Zoom and Vignette worked fine. Hmmmmm

Camera 360 works also, but you have to hit save after taking
