Help Camera flash produces milky hue on Huawei Ascend Mate 2

All the flash photos I've taken with the Huawei Ascend Mate 2 have a milky hue over the entire photo. Also, the camera doesn't always flash when the flash is set to "always on" (the lightening bolt without the "A" or the "off" symbol.) If this flash works like flashes on digital cameras then I think it should flash every time on that "always on" setting. With these two issues I'm wondering if there is something wrong with the flash?

If people could share their experience with the flash on this camera phone I'd greatly appreciate it! Thank you!

Thank you very much for your reply! To confirm.....when your flash is set to just the lightening bolt the flash goes off with every photo....even in bright daylight?

My HAM2 (android 4.3) flashes every time the shutter is released, when the lightning bolt (always flash) is selected. Dunno about that issue, but I have experienced a similar milky hue to photos taken with a smartphone. In this case, the problem was the case I had on the phone. It had a pretty (and poorly planned) shiny trim around the lens and flash, and the flash was bouncing off of it and washing out my photos! If you haven't already, try removing the case to see if that helps. Good luck!
