Camera has location (GPS) Now what?

Okay, enabled the location option while using the camera. Next, took a picture. Now what? How do I display that information? Why do it have this? Somebody please let me know...

Thanks!

i think its saved in the EXIF (sp?) tag of the jpg. its like an ID3 tag for an mp3. some image viewing software can read that data. i bet you can find a web photogallery that will display that data for each pic in the album!

This is all part of googles plan to let you post pictures to actual locations via google maps/picasa

Someone will (and are) making apps that let you view and post location based pictures. Think of it like street view, only with us taking millions of pictures.

Like drustvoid said it is already available in picasa which is owned by google as you browse photos you can see a small map at the bottom right of the screen (when viewing on a pc) of where the pic was taken. There was also an app that I had downloaded and was playing with on the phone that allowed me to seach for photos taken close to my gps location. Kinda cool I didn't know there was a realy cool looking Budist temple about 6 miles from my house till I was useing that program. Also because picasa is google's baby you can upload your photo's directly to your picasa account. It is done by texting the pic to a number you are assigned.

I think that might have been Panaramio
