Help Camera issue

I take a picture with my camera, it shows the picture in the thumbnail area, but when I tap on it to open it it goes to my gallery & the picture is not there.
I have tried turning the phone off, taking the battery out etc but nothing is working.
any ideas?
 
I'm not exactly sure how to do the above, but if you go to the gallery and tap the first picture you see (the wrong one), it will come up full screen as the one you just took. After that, going back to the gallery, all your new pics should be there. Annoying, for sure, but since I'm a backup/reformat dummy, I'll suffer with this glitch, knowing my pics are in there.....somewhere!
 
Click on the first picture in your gallery even though its not the one you just took. It'll open the one you took. Mine does that ALL the time...
