Apps Camera Preview on Galaxy S

I have written an app which uses the camera preview, which works correctly on the couple of Desires that it has been tested on, but when it is tested it on a Galaxy S the image on the screen is always at 90 degrees to the way that the phone is held.

Has anyone else noticed anything like this, or better yet come up with a solution to it?

Yes, and even weirder, I have it working fine on one HTC desire and rotating on an identical desire. So looks like something environmental. The only differences are that the working one is an O2 phone (no SIM) and the failing one is a vodafone one with sim. Maybe their customisation builds are slightly different?

If anyone has any ideas, I'd be really interested to hear about them. My suspicion currently lies with the setRotation function on the camera parameters, interestingly on the working one, I had to rotate the taken image by 90 degrees.

Even odder, just fiddling with it, and the app now crashes every time it goes into the preview screen on the rotating one.... hmmm

Just checked, and it's actually 2.2 on the non working one.
