Help camera (video) resolution

Lurker
Hi,
I have recently bought a Garmin-Asus Nuvifon A50. Garmin itself did not specify the video capture resolution. This page claimed VGA (I supposed 640x480):
Garmin-Asus nuvifone A50 - Full phone specifications
But the camera seems to be able to record only 320x240 (this produces quite poor-quality videos compared to the Samsung Jet S8000 that I had before).
I have no experience with hardware.... Is it possible that the hardware itself would support higher resolution, but it's disabled by the software so that they can sell the enabled version for a higher price? Is there a way to check it? And if so, to enable the higher resolution?
Thanks

From the Garminfone Android 2.1 (Eclair) manual:

"1. From the application tray, touch Camera > = > Camera Settings.
2. Select an option:
> Touch Color Effect to select a color effect to apply to photos you take.
> Touch Lighting Adjustment to select a lighting condition, or select Automatic.
> Touch Picture Resolution to select the resolution at which to capture photos. Higher settings use more storage memory to provide better-quality photos.
> Touch Shutter Sound to turn the shutter sound on or off.
> Touch Auto Review to turn the review page on or off. The review page displays the photo briefly after you take it.
> Touch Video Quality to select the resolution at which to record video.
NOTE: Video Quality can only be adjusted when MP4 is selected as the Video Format.
> Touch Video Format to select the video to use when saving videos.
NOTE: Only 3GPP videos can be sent as a multimedia message."
