I've also been using slide.cameraZoom.apk
It opens the usual camera screen with a soft circle that occupies 3/4 of the height. Within that circle is a little arrow that you can use to touch zoom in and out instantly

Looks like a great app. I can't tell since it FC's every time I try to use it on my Hero. Reading the reviews, I see many others are having the same issue.
