Help Can’t connect to router, shows "saved and secured"

Hey,
So I have this problem with my phone which no matter what I do to connect to my router via WiFi, it doesn’t respond but rather shows "Saved and secured" and that’s about it, Connection works fine with my other devices.

I’ve done my research into it, done all possible fixes, Surprisingly including factory data resetting both my phone and router TWICE, nothing new.

All I can recall has happened on that day -the problem first emerged- was that I was doing some regular memory cleanup such as cache memory and stuff then I went a step deeper and surfed some files, found a "LOST.DIR" folder contains many files, deleted a bunch and left the most recent ones. OK, so even if that messed something up, a factory data reset should’ve make up for it.

Any help is appreciated. :)

My phone specifications:
Android 4.4.2
Samsung Galaxy Star 2 Plus.
I have a 802.11 G Router.
 
The LOST.DIR folder being a system-level directory if you did actually delete it, after the next reboot it should just get automatically restored. It's just a default directory for recoverable files after a system crash. But being a system directory that also means this phone is rooted, yes? If you were overzealous and indiscriminately deleted other similar system directories that could be a probably reason for some functionality to be messed up. But whatever the situation, a Factory Reset only clears the user data partition, it does nothing to the operating system or system-level partitions. A Factory Reset does not return a rooted phone to its original unrooted state, nor does it magically return a phone to its original Android version if it's been upgraded to a newer version -- the operating system remains as is, before the Factory Reset and after.
To restore a damaged Android operating system, you'll need to flash a stock Samsung ROM. Is your model is a SM-G350E?

First of all, I haven’t deleted the folder but rather most of the files contained in it.

Secondly, being unsure of what a rooted phone is, I doubt it is.

And yes that is my model.

As my phone has no use right now, I would love if you could tell me how to do whatever "flashing a stock Samsung ROM" means. :)
 
Please state what model I.D. your phone actually is, it's hard to give you any relevant suggestions without knowing at least that.

You might want to try using Samsung's Smart Switch utility to try and repair/update your phone before doing something like manually flashing a ROM. In this situation it's not likely to fix anything but it is worth trying, and it's a good way for you to at least do a full backup of your phone.

I'd try using Smart Switch first and if that doesn't help you could try to manually flash a stock ROM. Flashing the ROM is essentially the same as using a restore disc on a PC to restore a 'clean' operating system. Using the Odin utility when flashing a stock Samsung ROM, as long as you follow the directions properly this should not delete your saved data, but it is important that you back up data safely first anyway. If something does go wrong, you need to have a backup no matter what the situation.

select the ROM for your country and your carrier (do NOT mix and match, pick only the one that applies to you). There are basic instructions on the actual download page you select, or read through this guide:

But the above applies only if the phone does need to be re-flashed. It has not been determined if that's the actual solution to your problem. There's still a lot of unknowns involved here. It could be a router issue, or your ISP, or any number of other issues. The only reason I brought up the flashing suggestion was because you're apparently deleting system files, something that has to involve a rooted phone. The contents of LOST.DIR directory won't affect the phone's functionality, so there has to be some other issue involved.

I’ve tried the Smart Switch and it wouldn’t connect to my other device, hasn’t shown an error except that it couldn’t connect. Apparently I believe it requires an internet connection.

Yes, you’re right, there’s a lot that is unknown. I will still try to connect to another router when I have the chance, then if it still doesn’t respond, I’ll try your suggestion. And by the way I’ve already reset everything so you needn’t worry about backing up my data as I have none.

Try this, remove all routing information from your device you're trying to connect with. Turn off the router and turn it back on. Turn off your device and turn it back on, reenter your passcode to connect to your router.

If by "remove all routing information" you mean "Forget the network", then unfortunately I’ve done that and as I mentioned I’ve tried all possible fixes. In fact, as I posted my problem, I doubted that anyone could help me as everything I could’ve done, have been.

Try connecting another Wi-Fi device to that router to make sure it's not the router that's the problem and not the phone?

I’ve done the flashing thing and still can’t connect. I don’t know if I should mention I have no "LOST.DIR" folder after I have factory data reset my phone.

I used my PC’s hotspot (which is connected to the same router) but still it wouldn’t show any response, while other devices showed no problems when connecting to either the router or the hotspot. But I am yet to try and connect to another router if it shall make any difference.

Given that a factory reset and flashing stock firmware hasn't solved the problem, If you can't connect to any other WiFi networks with this phone, then I'd have to think it's hardware failure and just coincidental with what you were doing at the time.
