Help Can a bad charger cause your phone to crash?

I forgot my charger at home, I'm now at work. The only one I have is crappy, and twice in the last half hour my phone randomly rebooted itself. It never happens, so I can only assume the charger had a part in it

Absolutely, if there's an intermittent power short or something showing up on the data lines - and if it's bad enough, like a momentary overvoltage, your phone may do whatever it takes during protection like a factory data reset.

If it's really, really bad it can convert your phone into a paperweight.

Charger in the trash! It happened a third time as I opened the thread, which was enough of an answer lol. Well that sucks. I'm gonna lose power before the end of my shift. You'd think I'd learned from the last time...

Cable is part of the problem. I do have another charger but the cord is about four inches long. So I have to choose between charging it, or having it connected to the stereo system for music but not both lol first world problems, I guess.. :p
